Where I’m from, who I am and why I’m here…
Hello…it’s very nice to meet you and I’m extremely happy you’re here! I’m LeeAnn. I live in St. Joseph, Missouri, which is in the Northwest corner of the state, just north of Kansas City. St. Joe is right on the Missouri River and nestled into the river bluffs. We experience 4 full seasons here, but don’t necessarily get an abundance of snow in the winter. We do, however, get hot, steamy, humid summers! It’s a wonderful place to raise a family and we thoroughly enjoy living in the Midwest.
My husband, Jeff, and I have been married for 29 years and were both born and raised in the Midwest. He was raised here and I was raised in Southwest Iowa. We met in college at Northwest Missouri State University where he majored in Recreation and I in Accounting/Finance.
Today he owns a small hunting and fishing business called J&B Outdoors. I am a full time Financial Advisor by day and avid reader, crafter, and card maker on nights and weekends.
We have two boys, Alex age 24 and Aiden age 17. Alex is finishing his degree in Agriculture at Northwest Missouri State University and LOVES the outdoors. He works at Jeff’s shop and is also a hunting guide during duck and goose hunting seasons.
Aiden is about to start his senior year at Savannah High School, Savannah, MO. He plays basketball and baseball, which keeps him very busy. He is in the process of deciding where he would like to spend his college career. Wish him luck!
As I said, I love to read. My goal is to read at least a hundred pages per day. I don’t always make that, but I never go anywhere without a book! I read approximately 46 books last year and I’m hoping to beat that in 2021. I’ve read 36 books so far this year! My favorite book I’ve read most recently is House in the Woods by Jessica Aiken-Hall. So good!
I love anything and everything crafty. I’ll try anything once! I love to cross stitch and crochet. My mother taught me to sew and to love making things with my hands. What she didn’t teach me, I taught myself. YouTube is a wonderful crafty tool!
When I’m not crafting, I’m making cards. I absolutely LOVE the world of card making and all the wonderful, crafty friends I’ve made along the way. I regularly post my creations on my Instagram page @leeannleonard07 and would love for you to check it out!
When I’m not reading or crafting, I’m sitting at ball games or traveling. We love to travel with both boys and expose them to new and different cultures. We’ve traveled all over the world, but still have a long bucket list of destinations still to be discovered.
