Hello card makers! Welcome to the LDRS Creative Feature Day 1. There are SO many goodies to check out in this new release!!!!! Today I am playing with two stamp and die sets! The first one is Down on the Farm.

This set features eight adorable farm images and one sentiment. It can be used stand alone or in compliment to the Barnyard Friends set. I used both for this card and they are absolutely adorable. The Barnyard Friends set is 14 images (mostly critters) and 4 sentiments. Lots of mix & match options with these two sets. Let’s dive into the making of this card!

This card is created on an A2 top fold card base. The card panel, also an A2, is 110# Neenah solar white card stock. I did a basic blending of the background with three inks: Iced Tea Hydrid Ink, Prickly Pear Hybrid Ink, and Little Boy Blue Hybrid Ink. I used Iced Tea for the dirt in the lower center, Prickly Pear for the grassy areas and Little Boy Blue for the sky. Very basic ink blending. The images are the stars of the show here.

Next up, I stamped all the images using Raven Ink on Neenah Solar White cardstock and colored the images using OLO markers. I’m new to OLO markers, but have found I’m really liking them. I die cut the images using the coordinating dies for both Down on the Farm and Barnyard Friends, then began the process of arrangement. This is always a process for me with scenic cards because it usually is telling some sort of story. In this case, the sentiment I chose was “missing you pig time!”, so I envisioned the female pig as the mother. She was in the corn patch picking ripe corn. Dad was working on the tractor (John Deere, of course) and the son was coming home for a visit. Can you envision it???

I just love it! To add a little “extra” to this card, I used colored pencils to add some blades of grass and some dots of dirt and a few extra boards in the barn. I also added a little glossy accents to the apples for a little shine. Remember when we put glossy accents on EVERY card???!!!

This was a fun one and brought me back to my great grand parent’s farm as a kid growing up. Fun times! I would love your thoughts and comments!
