Hello Friends! Welcome to Day 2 of LDRS Creative’s Feature Days! Today I’m sharing this bit of pink passion featuring their Poppy Posy stamp set. This stamp set has coordinating dies, stencils AND Impression Dies!!!! I cannot WAIT to do some more playing!! Let’s get started with this one.
This card is a quick and simple Thank you card that looks WAY more beautiful in person than in photographs. This ink blend is one of my VERY favorites!!! I started with an A2 white 110# Neenah solar white card panel cut down 1/4” to 4” x 5.25”. I then ink blended with Distress Oxide Inks starting from top down with Tattered Rose, Victorian Velvet, and Aged Mahogany. I start with a light hand and keep blending until I get my desired effect. I go back and forth between colors until thoroughly blended. You’ll feel like you’ve been to the gym when you’re done. At least with one arm!
Next, your going to hit the card panel with your heat gun to set the ink or let the panel set overnight to dry really well. Since you’re heat embossing over distress oxides, you don’t want any stray powder to stick anywhere. Once you’re sure it’s set, use a GOOD embossing powder tool to thoroughly dust the card panel before stamping with LDRS Watermark Ink. My favorite powder tool of all time is from The Rabbit Hole Designs. It is AMAZING. As you can see….I have NO stray embossing powder and I did not wait at all to heat emboss this card after blending! That’s a powerful testimony!! Once dusted, stamp the poppy image with the watermark ink and heat emboss with your favorite white embossing powder. I think this would also be pretty with black embossing powder. I stamped the sentiment at the same time as I stamped the poppy, but you could do separately if you like. Their images stamp and emboss beautifully. They are very well made and of the utmost quality.
Lastly, mount the card panel on an A2 top folding card base with foam strips and add your favorite embellishments. This card would be pretty with colored pencil embellishments added to the flowers and leaves as well. Just subtle little flips here and there. Lots of possibilities.
